God’s Favorite Girl

Psalms 84:11 says, "For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless."

I believe this verse serves as a wonderful reminder of how the Lord God looks after us, acting as our sun and shield. The metaphor of the Lord God as a sun and shield symbolizes his provision and protection in our lives. Just like the sun provides warmth and light, God offers us guidance and support in our journey. The shield represents his defense against adversities and challenges that we may face. By choosing to align ourselves with God, we open ourselves up to receiving his favor, honor, and blessings. Walking alongside God involves faith, trust, and obedience, knowing that He has our best interests at heart.

While it may not always be simple, I am grateful to walk alongside God. I am thrilled to be His cherished daughter! His favorite girl!

You know, I do consider myself God's favorite girl. While it might sound biased, anyone with siblings understands the feeling of vying for the title of Mom or Dad's favorite. You may also believe you hold that special place, and that's perfectly fine. He's generous enough to share, but I am undoubtedly His favorite!

Honestly, I am God's cherished one. His divine protection has surrounded me for a long time, and I can only attribute His abundant favor to being His special one. Have you ever felt that way? Uniquely cherished, set apart, loved, cared for, and watched over? God has truly been my guardian.

If I listed all the obstacles I have overcome that could have easily defeated me, one might question why I persevered. May marks mental health awareness month, and I can confidently say that the journey was not always smooth! I know the struggle of battling suicidal thoughts daily, planning an end, fighting depression, and climbing out of dark places. Yet, through it all, I know what it means to be protected! I understand what it's like to bounce back, show up despite challenges, overcome, and hold onto Jesus' invisible hand to navigate through tough times. I understand what it means to be God's favorite.

I have witnessed God showering His favor over every wound and concern. From childhood struggles with my father's rejection, my mother's health issues, the tragic loss of my brother at 16, to facing miscarriages as a wife, battling the fear of never conceiving, God has been present in every twist and turn. With that kind of protection, who wouldn't feel like a favorite? I am still standing here, undeniably favored.

Truly, there are countless moments in your life where you can reflect on how God has shielded, embraced, and safeguarded you, making you feel like a favorite too. If there's one thing you take from this message, remember this - God loves you with an eternal love. Our trials and experiences are opportunities for our loving Father to shine brightly. Although seasons may be challenging, with God, there is always hope. Do not lose hope in the moment and remember that He is forever by your side! Be encouraged and know that you are undoubtedly His favorite girl as well. He's got your back!

I encourage you to set aside some time this weekend to reflect on your life! Hasn’t God been wonderful? Just look at you – resilient, flourishing, blessed, and radiant! Can you see His favor? It's truly unmatched! Embrace the unmatched goodness on your life! Allow gratitude to fill your heart as you ponder on the wonderful fact that you are also his favorite girl!!

With love,

This was so good and so true!!!! I appreciated when you said “if I named all the obstacles” cause listen being his favorite doesn’t exempt us! I just means the covering and carrying through is still there.

This message was right on time. Many times when you’re in the “thick” of a storm, all you can see is the storm. Thank you for this beautiful reminder.
